VisiCan Parameter Abbreviations, Alert Thresholds & Screen Modes
1. Core Engine & Performance Parameters
- KWx Max Knock Ignition Retard Across All Cylinders: Displays the highest ignition timing retard value detected across all cylinders.
- KW1–KW4 Cylinder #1–#4 Knock Ignition Retard: Individual cylinder ignition timing retard values.
- AFR Air-Fuel Ratio: Real-time air-fuel ratio converted to standard 14.7:1 stoichiometric representation. Most factory ECUs actively stream dynamic AFR/O2 sensor data only after exhaust gas temperature (EGT) reaches 400°C–450°C; static values during cold startup before sensor warm-up are normal.
- HPF / FRP High-Pressure Fuel Rail Pressure: Real-time fuel rail pressure (Bar).
- LPF Low-Pressure In-Tank Fuel Pump Pressure & Duty Cycle:
- IGN Ignition Timing Advance: Real-time ignition timing advance (positive values indicate advance).
- INJ Median Injection Timing: Average fuel injection duration (ms).
- BST Actual Manifold Boost Pressure: Live manifold pressure / boost (Bar).
- BTR Target Manifold Boost Pressure: ECU requested manifold pressure (kPa).
- THR Throttle Position Sensor Angle: Throttle opening percentage (%).
- STF Short-Term Fuel Trim: Real-time short-term fuel correction percentage (%).

- IAT Intake Air Temperature: Manifold intake air temperature (°C).
- GBT Gearbox / Transmission Oil Temperature: DSG / Automatic transmission fluid temperature (°C).

3. Misfires, Smooth-Running Balance & Camshaft Timings
- M.1–M.4 Misfire Counters: Real-time misfire counters for Cylinders #1–#4.
- D.1–D.4 Injector Quantity Deviation: Idle smooth-running cylinder balance corrections (%).
- ICA / ICT Intake Camshaft Position: ICA = Actual Intake Cam Angle (%) | ICT = Target Intake Cam Angle (%)
- ECA / ECT Exhaust Camshaft Position: ECA = Actual Exhaust Cam Angle (%) | ECT = Target Exhaust Cam Angle (%)
4. Speed, Performance Timers & System Info Raw Values
- SPD Vehicle Speed: Real-time vehicle speed (km/h).
- 0–100 / 60–160 / 100–200 Performance Acceleration Timers: Acceleration elapsed time counters (seconds).
- BTV Battery Voltage: System voltage reading (e.g., 136 represents 13.6V).
- AN0 Ambient Light Sensor Raw Value: Light sensor reading (0–255) for auto-dimming.
- AN2 Unformatted Battery Voltage: Voltage without decimal point (e.g., 147 = 14.7V).
- FQ0 Flex Fuel Frequency Output: Raw signal output in Hertz from the ethanol sensor (valid range: 50–150 Hz).
- ET% Ethanol Percentage: Real-time calculated ethanol content percentage in fuel line.
VisiCan Data Displays Page Structure & Mode Sequence
VisiCan displays arrange monitoring views and system functions in a sequential numerical page order:
- Page 0: OFF Mode (CAN Gateway Connected Models): Disables active CAN-Bus communication. Allows diagnostic scan tools (e.g., VCDS, ODIS, ISTA) to connect to the OBD port without interference.
- Page 1: DTC (ECU - Engine) Listing / Clearing Mode: Diagnostic fault code reading and clearing page for Engine Control Units.
- Page 2: General Overview Mode (Main Gauge Screen): Multi-parameter summary grid displaying primary vehicle PIDs.
- Page 3: Retard Detail Mode: Focused detailed view monitoring individual cylinder knock retard parameters (KW1–KW4 / KWx).
- Page 4: Misfire Detail Mode: Focused detailed view monitoring individual cylinder misfire counters (M.1–M.4).
- Page 5: Boost & Torque Detail Mode: Focused view dedicated to target/actual boost pressure and calculated engine torque.
